I came across these guys in Tasmania under the guise of a paper seller knocking on the door, I was pretty curious so got some of their literature. I'm not sure exactly what to think, Lyndon J. LaRouche Jr. seems to be the messiah for a growing number of people around the world who join his local political platforms whose names unfortunately fail me right now, and run candidates in local elections for the most part As far as international affairs and US foreign policy, LaRouche tells like it is, a lot of the stuff he writes about corporate american death-dealing and political cabals controlling the intelligence agencies reads like a high-brow socialist/libertarian magazine, which is really fucking surprising coming from a Democratic presidential candidate. LaRouche )who's about 80 and was a Democratic nominee in the eighties) seems to want to model himself on Franklin D Roosevelt, the American president during the 30's who launched the New Deal as a away to buid America out of the Great Depression, with massive public works schemes, most notably perhaps the Hoover Dam. Likewise LaRouche sees the US economy as having bottomed out (a view shared by a great number of people) and wants to see massive new international building projects to complete corridors of efficient transport to new markets, such as high-speed train links across the bering strait, and in other key unexploited channels of trade. As far as the environment goes, it should all be exploited to use the capital for the further glorious development of the wonderful homo sapiens sapiens, and anyone who thinks otherwise is a species traitor. Overall it seems like he wants to make a play for the growing and quite possibly massive group or disenfranchised middle classes who are increasingly seeing through the foolish bunglings of Rumsfeld/Wolfowitz/Cheney and their fratboy puppet. I think he has a background in economics and he served jail time for something or other which he freely adnits and blames on political rivals trying to silence him. Just because he's a presidential candidate candidate doesn't mean he's in with a chance of anything other than ridicule as a senile paranoid ex-con.
