Ladyfest Table Quiz: Air Guitar for Your Brain. (1 Viewer)

That was the worst quiz, ever.

In that my team didn't win (which of course separates this from all such previous)

Er, sorry bout the Cynthia "gag" Jane, was an open goal, and to be honest I thought it was almost expected from the question...boy was my face red as I was exposed as insulting someone I never met! Well it was more purple I guess. I know you took it as a compliment really tho
My name was used as an answer on several occasions, but that was certainly the most amusing. Wait....that was an insult? Boy, am I screwed up.

One of the funniest answers of the night was "Anne Doyle" as the first woman in space. Brilliant.

Thanks to everyone who came out to this. We had no idea how much support we were going to have -- wow!

Thanks also to our generous prize donors.

that was great fun. even though we didn't win. and grrr, were pipped at the post for third prize by watts and his team of music nerds.

i'm still very disappointed that we didn't get a point for "my mum" as the well-known woman who brought us whipped ice cream....

I was just pissed off that you had to have like a degree in women's studies to answer anything.

ill just put it down to the fact that everyone else was really old and has had more time to read REALLY FUCKING OBSCURE authors

yeah well you deserve it.
name a really 'famous' person who said this really 'famous' quote. AAARRGGGGHHHH
Listen, i went to a table quiz put on by a radio station before and none of the questions were on the history of radio, never mind all of them.

really old? hmph. young whippersnapper, whyioughta, etc.

actually, i've only just noticed that my age appears beside all my posts. how am i supposed to maintain my young, hip, in-with-the-kids-on-thumped image when everyone knows i'm old enough to remember the crimean war?

you're the one who has a list of anthropologists in the "things i couldn't live without" section of your okcupid profile!

yeah but i wouldnt put them on a table quiz if i was raising money for an anthropology society, that would be just unfair.

older is cooler. i can't say 'back in the day' without people laughing. the first gig i ever went to was in a year that started with '2'. it's not all wrinkle-free complexions* and free money! :p

*did I just sign my own death warrant?

Like Virginia Woolf? Dorothy Parker? Agatha Christie? ALice Walker? Margaret Atwood? Almost as obscure as that William Shakesemaspeare guy!

And when 28 is old...Jeeeeesus.

Yes, the questions were challenging, but the winning teams were equal parts male/female, and almost none of them had any sort of womany degree. In fact, the third place team was composed of 5 lads.

So, wait, now 'women' is a specialist subject? We happen to compose 52 percent of the population, you know. Do you understand this? Anthropology is a subject. Women are most of the world. They are not comparable.

We are involved in more than one area of society, and the questions reflected this. Well, I nearly put in a Margaret Mead question; maybe you wouldn't have given out about that. Or a Ruth Benedict one. But I thought those were too hard.

Why so hostile just because you didn't know the answers? Lots of people didn't do brilliantly, but still had a good time.
