I've been having quite a few problems since upgrading this piece of crap.
My music is connected to an external drive. When I upgraded, Itunes lost all the music because it decided to default to a different location. I had to start the library from scratch. Took over two hours to read in the songs.
Then it had to do the artwork, then the gapless playback then 'Genius'.

Each time it would be pretty much unrespnsive while doing this so I'd have to stop it to snync the iphone, which now takes 20 minutes or more each time just to swap between 5 and 10 files. Been having these issues nearly a week now.

I always hated ITunes. Far too slow and bloated. People used to tell me it was because I ran it on Windows and that it was great on a Mac. Well I have a my Mac a year now and guess what? It's the exact same, crap.

I have an external and this happened me too on an 8 upgrade. happy with 9 tho, and i have a fairly slow laptop.

just installed 9.02, restarted, and itunes won't start.
One bounce on the dock and thats it.
any ideas?

most new apps will need a minimum of 10.4.11

its opening after the os update, but as soon as the library window opens, its the endless spinning pinwheel.
pain in the ass.

Library file could be damaged. You could trash it and start again. Just direct itunes to your music folder.

Should I trash all library stuff? ie iTunes Library, Library Genius, Extras?

also, when the wheel is spinning, its slowing down the entire system.

going back to 8.2.1. Hoping thats ok now.

ya...downloaded security update, Safari 4 and 9.02.
Is all installed alright, but iTunes gets hungup on when processing/analyzing continuous playback of tracks.
If I don't stop the process, it hangs indefinitely.
I'm stumped!? Maybe some corrupted audio files?

yes, tiz grand. excepet it decided to 'organize' my library. and i have my library on an external as its quite large so this took ALL day but since its finished, ive had no problems with it
