Okay, it seems the punkfest is go :)

It's gonna be Friday 10th & Saturday 11th of August, here in Roscommon, in Batty O'Briens. Prices haven't been definitively set, but it'll most likely be £5 for one day and £8 for the weekend, which is pretty good since you'll be getting to see around 20 bands and have free camping space within staggering distance of the venue (it's only about 50 metres away...). Everyone pays in unless they'e actually playing, it doesn't matter if you do a zine, label, are the punkest fucker in Ireland, whatever. There's also an off-licence, chipper, and a shop which serves hot food adjacent to Batty's, and Batty will probably be selling pints for around £2.

There's a couple of buses on Saturdays from Dublin that go right through Knockroghery, I'm not sure of the times, I think Weeler knows them...? People can also get the train right to Roscommon, Knockroghery is 10 minutes from the town, you could hitch or get a taxi (it'll be cheap between a few of you, only about a pound each if you've 4 or 5 people). I'll supply phone numbers nearer the time. Also, you could get the bus/train to Athlone and go to Knockroghery from there, it's about 20 minutes, same thing applies with hitching/taxis.

All the money goes to the bands, with a certain percentage towards a charitable cause (which one exactly will probably be up to Batty, since he does something like that each year and is a responsible chappie...). Bands will be payed depending on distance travelled and number of people in the band. Obviously we won't be able to pay each band loads, but there should be enough to pay travel/food/drink costs for each band.

Here's a shortlist (in no particular order) of bands we want to get to play. Obviously we won't be able to get them all for whatever reason, but we aim at having about 20 bands (10 per night):

1. Puget Sound.
2. Runnin' Riot.
3. The Steam Pig.
4. Skint.
5. Fluffy Ink.
6. The Dangerfields.
7. Cold War.
8. Stress.
9. Mixtwitch.
10. Barberskum.
11. Fingermouse.
12. Fat Ethel.
13. Nerdlinger.
14. Weevil.
15. P.C. Fascists.
16. Kid Blunt.
17. Foot In Mouth.
18. Mislead Youth.
19. Pinion.
20. No Matrix.
21. Lawndog.
22. The Begrudgers.
23. The Bloody Mutants.
24. Mr. Nipples.
25. 2000 Strong.
26. The Dagda.
27. Half-Mast.
28. Blood or Whiskey.
29. SF8 Sellouts.
30. Fuktifino.
31. Circle Agian.
32. From Where I Stand.
33. Human Shield.
34. Your New Friend.
35. Rodan.
36. Prell.

If you're in any of these bands, get in touch, or else we'll be in touch with you soon...don't despair if your band isn't in that list, we've just momentarily forgotten :) Get in touch if you wanna play. No fucking cover bands. We'll also have space for record & zine distro tables, so if you wanna set up, get in touch (we only have limited space so first come, first served). We'll need help from people to do with various aspects of this, so please get in touch if you're willing to help us out in any way. We'll probably have a website up with various details about the festival before the end of the month. Okay, I think that's all for now, get in touch with questions/ideas. Bye for now,

-Cormy

Anon, you're welcome to your depressed cynicism -your own hang ups and pathetic shortcomings mean nothing to us :)

So there (bloody virgin).

Optimo, I reckon about 200 could fit in comfortably enough...you'd probably fit about 250 scrawny festering punks in...rather uncomfortably...there's lots of room for sitting about outside where you'll still hear the bands (it often sounds bleedin' better from the outside), and chairs, mouldy couches etc about for arse-accomodation.

IT'S BLOODY MARY CORMY TOMATO JUICE AND VODKA A SQUEEZE OF LEMON AND A DROP OF WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE BETTER STICK TO THE CHEAP CIDER

AND FOR ONCE IN HIS SHORT LIFE YOUNG CORNELIOUS KNEW HE HAD TO DO WHAT HE WAS TOLD..................AND SO IT WAS DONE

Don't worry Hecto, I'm sure we'll survive without you :)

Most of the bands we does be wantin' are confirmed, and if all goes well over the next few days there'll be a rock-ass headline band from the UK...not that any of the Irish bands aren't good enough to headline it blah blah etc.

ANON PLEASE STOP SHOUTING LEARN SOME GRAMMAR DON'T YOU KNOW YOUR NETIQUETTE YOU ARE BEING A VERY BAD BE GOOD I GO NOW...

It's okay, really, work away, I don't find you annoying...quite the opposite in fact, providing me with little giblets of comic relief you are...

While I, like anon and hectorfuckinggrey can't be arsed about 90% of the bands involved, I'll be there.

Beats the shit out of whinging anonymously on a fucking message board.

bye fuckwits
