No they ain't. They're actually from Northern Ireland so they're included. They were based in Scotland for years tho.

As for most of the artists on that list, i wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire.

All of these acts are great, and all of them are deserving of an industry-acclaimed award. Don't let your bitterness or cynicism spoil the enjoyment of these awards for the participants, guys, come on, if it was you up for these awards, you wouldn't be so quick to slate them. People shouldn't begrudge these talented acts their successes.

Personally, i think Brian McFadden should win, after all, he IS the Irish Son. And it's been years since we've heard from the likes of George Michael, everybody give it up for George Michael. And Metallica deserve a pat on the back for taking a hardline stance against the Napster crowd stealing their music without permission.

My mammy likes Ryan Tubridy, so he should win the Best Irish DJ.

I'm seein double here - four Krusties.

I think they could attempt to widen their scope just a little bit. There are some genuinely incredibly good bands out there that just haven't reached the audience they deserve to reach. But jaysus I say that til I'm blue in the face and it's always a waste of time.

supplanted by blink, the deviousness of it all

yeah, whose recent album has ONE song worth listening to. And that particularly song is years old. I'm not being cruel. It's just a very very feckin ordinary album. Ordinarily bad. It begs the question, are they just on the list due a certain status they've attained through their being around for so long?
