i think it's been six weeks since the electricians first arrived to do the install, and we still don't have a functional car charger - and to be fair, it seems to be the manufacturer at fault, their support seems absolutely hopeless. they posted out a replacement part, and the electrician from my solar company arrived this morning to fit it - and it's the wrong part; one that doesn't even exist in the car charger.
that they don't know what the inside of their own car charger looks like is not very reassuring.

just in case they google for reviews or mentions of their own product - it's a z****.
when the lads installed it and realised it wasn't working correctly on first install, one of them showed me what they reckon the problem was, a cable that had been pinched, and it gave me a laugh; it was an IDE cable; i hadn't seen one in probably 15 years or more.
when the replacement came out i copped straight away it was the wrong one, it was too narrow.

thankfully with my wife's broken ankle, we hadn't gotten round to replacing the car yet anyway. i'd have been more pissed off otherwise.

I thought they were meant to be really good

my solis app handily gives 'you've saved this many coals!' and 'you've generated ten trees!' information.
i've just calculated that so far we've generated enough electricity to leave a kettle on for 14.5 days.

that's the sort of info irish people would love in the app - e.g. 'you've gotten 8 continuous weeks worth of the immersion on'
