It doesn't seem to be possible to export a monthly or annual report that includes the split between the two sets of panels. I can do it on a daily basis but that's it.

I'll see if I can automate it somehow because I'd actually like to have that data myself.

is there a sample you could take from the winter and summer solstice if you can only look at days?

i've set up a UIPath automation to dump out the daily reports, so as soon as that's done i'll collate them into a single spreadsheet and generate the actual per-string output figures for every day.

I only need to go back to june 2023 and it's already at january 2025

Last month, March 2025, we generated 112Kw. 10 panels, south facing.

Already this month has beaten last month at 114Kw already.

There are some 100+ft trees that block our sun for ages in the winter, more or less until noon. Not so bad in summer. They do block a lot of wind too so I can't be too upset at them.

the ideal homes exhibition is on this weekend, and much as i hate things like that, i'll head over and get some more quotes.
talked to at least 8 different companies. the range of conversations was quite marked, the worst being 'yeah, i'll just take your details so someone who knows what they're talking about can ring you during the week' - which is a reasonably fair representation of what he said.

called to the in-laws after and was talking to the FIL (who had a system installed last year) and he started ranting that he's not able to use his own leccy when there's a power outage in the area. i was saying i'm fairly sure it's possible to get an isolator switch, but apparently no, it's the government's fault, they don't want the consumer having that much control*. his was installed by activ8, which i've heard very mixed opinions about.

*he managed to not mention eamon ryan, bizarrely.

also, i did google ecoplex (who did pete's) and they've a few one star reviews online, mainly around after sales support.
but apparently they offer a €1k discount if you're a member of castleknock GAA club.

Ah well you'll always find a mix at these shows. Some people are very knowledgeable but maybe not great salespeople. Some are knowledgeable and sociable and they're really just off on a jolly with all their mates. And sometimes they hire in some Brand Ambassadors with one sheet of information and a nice smile. Or They send the kid from the office who knows nowt.

I think you've met one of the latter two there. But in fairness, I'm sure they weren't expecting to meet the likes of you there. I've been to a few Ideal Homes shows. Not exclusive to that show though.

Yeah see my previous post on that. Nothing terrible and I’d put it down to them being swamped with business at the time. The guy I dealt with doesn’t work with them any more but he hadn’t (or at least claimed he had never) heard of triangular panels when I was trying to fill every bit of available roof space which made me think they were just doing the same cookie cutter installations for everyone. Doubt they were the only ones.

yeah, at the other end of the scale were lads who knew their stuff and willing to go into the ins and outs of competing brands of batteries and why one inverter might be better than another.
unfortunately one of the two best (in terms of ability to actually talk about the product) sells impressive looking but what looks like proprietary combined inverters and batteries, which would make me wary - not just about scalability, but also in terms of support should that company go pop in a year's time.

another sales guy popped out a line i'd not heard before - 'we usually recommend not getting a battery'

And you can see why, with a sentence like that, why someone (such as a younger and more handsome me) might shit themselves.

time for me to use this again so might as well remind people it exists

pulled the trigger (well, started to) on an install this evening. as a result of the ideal homes exhibition, we ended up with at least eight quotes and it was a bit of a headmelt at first trying to sort through them.

we're going for a 19 panel system (if the roof will allow it) but it's on three aspects so at least €500 of that will be optimisers..
