mark, are you going to be using it as a vst instrument?

i don't know what that means, but probably not.
it's really just for demoing stuff on my own at home.

sorry, i mean are you using it within cubase or that, or is it just standalone?

no, not with anything. i just need something i can programme patterns into, then record. although if there was a way to export patterns, then import them into pro tools, that would be good.

I'm interested in this aswell,i've been searching high and low for good drum machine software for ages and i'm sick to the teeth of the poxy reason machine.

I have battery, but need more kits for it.

Any suggestions anyone, for the Battery kits or a good drum machine?

Also Herv, can i hear your new EP anywhere online?

rebirth seems by far the most popular

what's wrong with Reason? I thought it was really versatile, no?

it's popular with you post-rock "heads" to jam along to,but if you want some mashy/squelchy sounds,it's not good at all in my opinion.

me, post rock?

ha ha

ha

post country maybe

or post culchie

I'm so proud, I've invented a whole genre of music. I'm like Lonnie Donegan or something.

post-culchie!?!?!? Here I've spent all my life trying to be über-culchie... I'm like daniel o'donnel wif a gangsta vibe in fulleffekt. Worrrd, so.

anyhoo, alex makes good suggestion. There's a SUPER basic 808-ish drum program(freeware) called WaveBeat, I'll email it to anybody who's interested. Grid-style programming, like the 808 itself. Uses quicktime sounds, instructions in Japanese...

Fruity Loops 3 is pretty good for a stand alone application.

I just recently got Reason, so maybe I'm still in the Honeymoon period, but I think its class. Comes with oodles of drum loops and decent sampled instruments. Also if you're using Cubase as your recording/mixing application, then its hooks up perfectly in synch.
