ok so anyone that wants to help out with this documentary come along to the Lord Edward (beside Jury's Christchurch) upstairs at 7.30pm next Tuesday 16th.
for those who have been asleep etc. the premise is to compile a factual documentary about the independent music scene in ireland aimed at people who may not yet know what's going on but who would be interested.
we will be compiling live footage, photos and recordings of gigs both in dublin and (hopefully) around the country. we'll also try to get interviews with independent record stores, radio stations, publications, producers, label owners etc. etc. so you can see it covers the same sort of aims as "Things you're missing". The end product will be pitched at various TV stations then.
So the first concrete thing we want is people with access to visual and audio recording equipment and/or experience using this stuff. Anyone with knowledge of obtaining grants for this sort of project aswell should come along and anyone that just wants to lend a hand in general. Two lads I'm bringing along are not familiar with the scene which is probably healthy but they're interested in the visual direction and script-writing side of it.
The first step in the project is to record the sabbath gig so anyone with access to digital recording equipment would be great, steve fanagan has given the ok to recording this and we'd just have to ask the bands involved if they are also ok with it.
If you want to come along please reply - also reply if you're interested in coming but can't make it and we'll try and get you involved somewhere along the line.
