great days, great days... mate of mine had it on a bbc micro. we spent an unhealthy amount of time playing it. we even had a log book to track how many kills we had (very sad). never made it to elite - got to deadly. then i got the version for pc with the ships coloured in. you only needed something like 1000 kills to become elite. naff. a proper faithful remake of this for PS2 or XBox would rule.

Yes, and yes again. Elite completely ruled. I had it on the BBC, my da's mate had gotten to competent or something, and I took it on from there. Good job, too.. starting off was a pain in the arse. I mean, waddaya gonna do if you don't fave military lasers?
Hey, I ran into some thargoids once (this was a pretty rare thing on the BBC, less so on other platforms).
Jeez, docking was a pain in the arse, too..

ah, the cobra mk II

only ever played the C64 version - great days. you got to see the thargoids if you pressed a certain key during a jump i think...

got Frontier on the Amiga which was ok
