The Cosmic Dead (UK): For anyone who hasn’t yet stood before the Dead and their live homage to the cosmos, expect religious devotion to synthesised dreamworlds, subsonic grooves, guitaristic splendour and the vast, hypnotic sounds of Hawkwind and Popol Vuh eternally jamming in the Möbius strip of time and space.

The Cult Of Dom Keller (UK): Since 2008 this psychvessel from Nottingham redefines the parameters of psych music, spiking the fuzz laden nuggetswith shoegaze and noise. Their music can be as dreamy as Spacemen 3, as harsh as Jesus & Mary Chain or as dangerous as Brian Jonestown Massacre.

The Black Tamourines (UK): Falmouth's Black Tambourines put in the best performance I saw at this year's Great Escape (nme) Blissfully hazy garage flower-punk in the same vain as The Black Lips, the material is born from long days spent dreaming by the coast in their native Cornwall.

Twinkranes: Dublin’s Twinkranes create psychedelic progressive pop skillfully harassing drone and the motorik beats of Krautrock to create a hypnotic & visceral live show and a brief but noticeable rip in the space-time continuum.

Woven Skull: Woven Skull create a contrast of minimal drones, repetition and psychedelic distorted riffs all layered in constant unconscious rhythms.

Beach: Beach are a 5 piece band based in Dublin. Beach have developed a unique blend of psychedelia infused with elements of electronica and slacker rock whilst expanding their live show by incorporating visuals to create a more immersive expression of their music.

Wild Rocket: WILD ROCKET plays space metal. WILD ROCKET plays heavy psychedelic. WILD ROCKET endures. WILD ROCKET lives.

Fabric (NI): Started in Summer of 2014, continuously writing and perfecting original material and live sets, striving to invent a new sound by exploring many different genres/artists and musical styles.

I Heart The Monster Hero: The music they make has been described as 'fuzzed-up swirl of pop-laminated psych punk.

Sun Mahshene: Sun Mahshene is a collective of musicians from Dublin, Ireland. Their melodic hooks mixed with fuzz and grit delivers a sonic wall of sound.

Reviews from 2015 Edition

And so that was Reverberation. Overall a fantastically organised mini-festival, especially with it being its first attempt, and it was one that helped showcase how broad the psych and drone scene is viewed both here at home and abroad. Here is hoping for a further expansion of the music and mind next year.

With that, the Psych festival is over. Having only one stage and roughly twelve bands in total would normally fail to do it for any festival, but somehow this is the exception. The psychedelic niche is one that is often looked over, yet after a weekend as diverse and high gain as this, we have a feeling this new found gem might be one for the calendar for years to come.

Overall I’d say the weekend has been a complete success, there has been a fine array of ‘psych-themed’ bands on display with traverse the entire genre nicely and the blend of Irish and international bands has catered to all tastes. There has been a good turn out too with two different sets of people enjoying the music on both days. With the promoters already working on 2016, I am certain I’ll be back again to enjoy it next time round.
