I tried it for a while because I heard it really helped with anxiety. It didn't work for me. What did work was not being a dick to myself and allowing myself to have warm showers.I'd like to take up sea swimming too but I'm not getting into Dublin bay. They were talking about this on the radio recently, some medical guy said it's good for you, gets the circulation going and boosts the immune system. A listener texted in to ask if a cold shower would have the same benefits and he said yes it does as long as you stay in long enough to get really freezing and shivery so I've started doing that. It's fairly miserable.
My friend who last year was a big sea swimming enthusiast seems to have knocked it on the head this year.
@pete I think a ban is in order herewait, so thumped is *not* for pricks?
I have heard cold water is really good for your skin. Helps with dandruff and the like.there's all sortsof stuff people will claim about sea swimming. one thing though it does help is a friend's psoriasis.
Jump in the sea?All this hand sanitizer has given me some sort of dermatitis on my fingers

Jaws is one thing, it's seeing some of the toothy things caught along the Dublin coast in the Natural History Museum that really puts me off. That and the cold. And the stony beaches. And @rettucs's mates.Have you guysnot seen Jaws? No way am i going in the sea
