no problemo.

but if there is nothing on events wise, it's still a deadly drinking town.

loads of great bars knocking about. esp if you like old man pubs. wander off the beaten track and you might find yourself drinking pints for less than three bucks a pop. mmm.. tasty shit!

Wow, thats great. I'll have to maybe gets some names off you nearer the time.

here's my advice: don't get the train. it's 54 euro. get one of them aircoach buses. they take a bit longer, but not as long as bus eireann buses, and it's 30 return. uber comfy squashy seats. and they leave from westmoreland street, so there's none of the poxy rushing out to heuston business, and when you come back you're right in the middle of town. it's grate altogether.

(no, i do not work for them.)

Jerry Dammers is the man responsible for a nations entire youth movement in the 80s and for creating the highly acclaimed Two Tone scene. Two Tone was honed into a modern urban multi-racial sound and came in on the back of punk and radical new wavers with roots taken from Caribbean ska, rocksteady and reggae. Jerry Dammers could well be solely responsible for an entire generation’s musical education. Having grown up in the 60's listening to the ska and heady reggae-infused pop of Toots, Buster and Drummond, Dammers and friends fell quite comfortably into setting the tempo themselves – forming Special AKA in ’77. As The Specials, the band recorded hits like "Too Much Too Young", "Gangsters" and "Ghost Town" for Dammer’s newly-formed Two Tone Records (which also housed chart hitters such as The Beat and The Selecter amongst others). As the Special AKA (reverting back to the original name), they recorded the anthemic "Free Nelson Mandela" which established itself as the worldwide anthem for the growing demand of the jailed African National Congress leader to be released by the South African authorities. Since breaking away from the Special AKA set-up, Dammers threw himself into such organisations as Artists Against Apartheid and the Red Wedge anti-Conservatives campaign. He was also a member of the shortlived post-Madness band "The Madness". Today, Jerry Dammers is most frequently seen behind a DJ booth or mixing desk. Now a top DJ expect ska, reggae, funk, hip hop and a few surprises as this master of manipulation makes everyone dance, dance and dance! His production credits over the years include Robert Wyatt's "The Wind Of Change" and Junior Delgado's acclaimed "Fearless" album.
