What's the story with carrying out an apostasy?
Do you get a receipt from the Vatican saying you've got your soul back?

Yeah, pretty much. I did it just under 5 years ago now and it was near impossible to do. I had to get the form from the local parish priest and it became a 2 hour lecture/battle. I filled out the form there and then as it was where I was baptised but I still have a niggling feeling he did anything else with the form and I'm still officially a Catholic.. Probably trying to keep membership numbers up.

well that's what my ma told me when my god children's communions came up. i gave her the money as i didn't think they'd like the shoes i'd buy. my last god child to make his communion was a friends child so i got him a wii instead of the shoes(i'd missed load of birthdays and Christmas')
