I think II'm going to Brisbane for 2 weeks to do an album.
ever been there?

whats the jizz with it?
good music? nightclubs? parties? bars? things to do?

is it boring?

i hear its easy to get to sydney/melbourne for cheep on plane at weekend.....

Hey Al,

we played a few gigs there in '05.
nice place... weather was so fuckin hot tho.

it seems to get a bad rap ('Brisneyland', 'Bris Vegas') for being boring, but that was mostly from the locals themselves (i found).

there was a pretty good DIY scene when we played there... we played one show in a warehouse that was full of kids (just BYOB) and another one in an art gallery.
seemed to be a lot of houseparties too.
we went to some dodgy nightclub... i can't remember the name, but they were projecting Caddyshack on a big screen so i suppose it wasn't all bad.

there was a pretty cool bar called Rics i think.

the Brisbane bands we played with (On/Oxx and I Heart Hiroshima) were both great though.

not that i know, but i'm told brissie is the place to go - avoid sydney like the plague. there's a good lot of punks there, possibly some of em irish if you wanna check on eirecore. there are defo a few natives with irish connections there anyway.

because the highways aren't very good planes are very cheap....

It's roughly about $200 Australian dollars to fly from Brisbane to Melbourne, which is about €100. Is it an Aussie band you might be working with Al?
