To me the voice-over never seemed like the heart, more like the arse. Probably has something to do with my loathing for noir/gumshoe/detective movies and their cliches.

Its all to do with the music Damon.

Its all bongos and bird singing and you think you're somewhere that makes Cambodia look like Kansas.

Randy Newman did the soundtrack and its awesome.

He's really good at fooling people into thinking that they are not in Los Angeles.

it'll be interesting to see how john lasseter will handle the move from animation to live action directing.
the vangelis bit in the trailer is fucking beautiful.
kept expecting to see robocop get outta that cop car near the end!

well, it starts off with Rachel being kidnapped by the Tyrell Corporation and they blackmail Deckard into retiring a Nexus 7 replicant who has gotten into politics to fight for equal rights

i think most of it is gonna be set in L.A.

That's actually incorrect, George. Deckard and the Owl become allies, and he flies into the replicant/human battle at the end on his back to save Rachel.
