best international album - dead prez - revolutionary but gangsta/lawrence arms - greatest story ever told(think that was this year)

best gig - has to be the striknien pills nite good god

best random adventure - when me ger lisa and some others went to diarmuds hotel and stole loadsa booze

best film - shaun of the dead

best band found out about this year - latterman / blood brothers

best gaff - weelers flat (r.i.p)

fattest person who lived in weelers flat - big fat john

sexiest person - fitzy (dave sunshine)

Best tooting of one's own horn: Me, just there.

Best thing happening to "the scene": More people trying to put on gigs/events on their own! Rock!

Best festival: GGI/DIY Fest..

Best gig: Isis, without a doubt. Apart from that feckin' culchie standing on me.

Best new member to my gaff: Cian :D

Worst thing about 2004: Not enough emo, people bitching about emo

Prediction for 2005: Some REAL irish emo bands(not like them wannabe burn it to the ground dickheads)- emo to take off big time in Ireland

Best film: American splendour

Prediction for 2005: Burn it to the Ground to become rock stars in Denmark and release a major label debut titled "big in denmark"

they do in their bollix...blueline are decent though...saw em in sydney a few times. did you ever catch the nation blue from taz but based in melbourne?

Best Old band discovered this year - cant think of any

Best Festival - Fete de la Musique, bar de la mer, nantes

Most striking occurences of the year - Enjoying american diy country bands so much

Most predictable occurence of the year - That I wouldnt be arsed cutting my hair or shaving

Dumbest trend of the year - Bars removing ashtrays from their tables

Biggest loss of the year - the wolfhound pub, the naut

Most ridiculous session of the year - france

Award for above and beyond the call of duty - Willie and Natalia for organising the Can Kickers/Pine Hill Haints tour twice

Overall impression of irish punk 2004 - I don't take enough notice about whats going on to have an impreession

Predictions for 2005 - I won't stop drinking,I won't stop smoking and I'll go to France to see Neurosis in the summer, oh and some deadly bands will come to Ireland and noone will go to see them :mad:

yeah, when i first heard blueline medic i thought it was jawbreaker, then i thought it was caustic soda(cause its the same guy) then i checked who they actually were because i was a bit confused. their deadly, not as good as jawbreaker's UNFUN album but still really good

i also discovered refused this year who are quite amzing

deadstare from sydney were one of my favourite aussie bands. youth crew, beatdown, black metal and thrash all in one. i saw mindsnare play sydney twice and they were unreal live. okay on record.the blurters were great. charcoal human were great. three found dead were just mad. hadnt much time for
not for you and irrelevant. saw day of contempt play with one king down in the aussie equivalent to a gaa clubhouse. someone performed cartwheels across the floor while they played...it may have been a band member!
