I work on the street right now collecting for charity, and I end up talking to people from outside Ireland all the time. There are a shit load of Polish people and people from other parts of the EU here now that the EU has expanded. It's great, every single 'foreigner' I have talked to is wayyy fuckin nicer than half the assholes I would expect to meet on the streets of Belfast. I actually love talking to the foreign people, they always give me a real lift during the day just because they are always really nice, since I've been doing the job I've talked to people from Poland, Greece, France, Germany, Italy, Pakistan, Sudan (well up to date guy!), South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Lithuania, Norway, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Mexico, Palestine, the list goes on and on. We're not meant to talk to tourists or 'foreigners', I actually got a bit of a bollocking for it earlier, but I don't give a fuck, I actually try and get them to stop just to say hello and see how they are finding Ireland. I have even had a guy from Slovakia and a guy from Norway sign up with me, they were both really sound.
Without exception, every 'foreign' person I have talked to in the streets is more willing to listen than the vast majority of people from Northern Ireland, and I'll tell you what else, the vast majority of workers from abroad actually work about twice as hard as the so-called natives ever would too, and a lot of the time they end up doing the shit jobs for shit pay that no-one else would work for. End of the day our economy is actually supported by the toil of these guys and a lot of the time they end up getting exploited by wanker businesses, they deserve every benefit they can get here. I personally think the economy and all that is a pile of shit anyway, but I don't see how anyone from Ireland can complain about foreign people living in the country, given the amount they contribute to the economy, and especially considering the number of Irish people that have emigrated over the centuries.
Final thing, the whole deportation law and all that is one of the fucking stupidest things that ever got ratified, it just shows how many uninformed people in Ireland are actually willing to listen to the shit the government tells them, fucking disgraceful.

I just had a great day/night out
watched the "ashes" in O'Connell street today and tonite had 1 damn sexy Chinese chick serve me, fckI love immigrants!!

Asylum seekers forced to leave Wexford centre

Thirty-five women asylum seekers and 10 children, the youngest two weeks old, have been given six days' notice to move from their accommodation in New Ross, Co Wexford, to other reception centres around the country.

Two community groups last night expressed concern over the planned removal by Thursday of the asylum seekers from the Old Rectory. New Ross Community Development Project (NRCDP) and the New Ross Intercultural Group yesterday issued a joint statement following a letter sent to the asylum seekers by the Reception and Integration Agency last Friday saying they were to be moved.

In a statement yesterday, some of the women thanked the people of New Ross for the way they were accepted into the town. "With the community's help and understanding we were able to socialise and integrate with ease."

The statement highlighted the goodwill exhibited by the people of New Ross towards them. "We will greatly miss the community of New Ross that welcomed us and made us feel comfortable. We will truly never forget our experiences there." There was no comment from the Reception and Integration Agency yesterday.

Conor Dervan, the NRCDP's project co-ordinator, said local people were sad and frustrated about the move. Some of the women and children had been living in New Ross for over two years and had become fully integrated with the local community. "We are extremely frustrated by the limited notice given to them and the complete lack of consultation with the women, the local community and local agencies."

He also said the two community groups were dissatisfied with the fact that "no reason" was given for the women being moved. "The letter sent to them fails to outline the reason for their move, fails to offer any kind of apology or even mild regret for the upheaval caused to the women, their children and their friends in the community."

the youngest was 2 weeks old? for fucks sake, the suit who wrote those letters on whoever's behalf should be praying for his life.

just to clarify my point above, i'm not saying the blame should be entirely laid upon the guy who wrote the letters. but he's a cog in the machine and he's responsible, just as much as the guy above him, for the relocation of these people. i'm not saying 'shoot the messenger', i just wonder if he could have, in any way, typed more than 4 paltry lines.

He could have but I'm sure he was told not to.

the live radio earlier was very scary but went really well, the presenter was well in agreement so that made things easier.

Can I ring in and pretend to be Janer?

Bloody immigrants.

USAEireland2.jpg

I cant be bothered typing loads here but I just wanted to say this. Janer you are Irish right? I think of all nationalities the Irish have the least right to complain about immigrants. For a long long time millions from Ireland were immigrating for a better life. Now how is that different to those from others coming to Ireland in search of a better life? Just because its happening now and not 150 years ago doesnt mean that its any different.

well we got lots of media, front page of all the local papers today but women are still going tommmorow at 11.

the angle we took on it though has become the angle in the media with the headline in the new ross echo being "councillors outrage at eviction of asylum seekers" with lots of fianna fail, fine gael reps saying how terrible it is etc when the usual headline would be along the lines of "councillors outrage at asylum seekers coming to the town" so if nothing else we set a pro asylum seeker agenda for the coverage and soem peopel may think again about how they think of asylum seekers.

local papers go online tommorow so will post it up then.
