" For Weekend 2 of ATP 2007, we have cooked up something a little bit special for you. All Tomorrow's Parties would like to announce ATP vs The Fans. ATP will be curating half the line-up and the rest of the line-up is up to you, The Fans.
Each person who buys a ticket to the festival will be asked to submit their top ten wish-list of who they would like to see at ATP. To get the ball rolling, here are some of the bands ATP have confirmed to play the weekend so far:
VOTING DOES NOT COMMENCE UNTIL FRIDAY NOVEMBER 24TH.
Built To Spill, Sparklehorse, Death Vessel, The Notwist, Do Make Say Think, Akron Family and Echo and the Bunnymen.
The event will take place on May 18th - 20th at Butlins Holiday Resort, Minehead.
Here's how it works. When you buy your tickets, you will be given details of a website. The person who actually buys the tickets will log into a page where they will be able to email out voting forms to each person in their apartment.
Each person then needs to use that form to submit their top ten bands.
Each week, the received votes will be tallied and listed on www.atpfestival.com in order of popularity. ATP will then start asking bands from the top of the list, down. Please note that this means the earlier you vote the more your vote will mean.
Some things to keep in mind.
The resort has a capacity of less than 6000. Please bear this in mind when making your choices. You can ask for someone like Bob Dylan or The Rolling Stones but they will inevitably be considerably more expensive than the whole line-up put together, thus wasting one of your choices.
We are unable to raise the dead.
Just because a band is at the top of the list does not mean they will play. They have to be available and have to want to do it.
If you put a band that is taking a hiatus or has broken up several years ago, please consider that you might be wasting a vote. You might not be, so you are welcome to take a chance, but an artist has to want to
You cannot vote for the same band twice.
You cannot vote twice.
If you are the one that has bought the apartment and you feel you have a right to then take all the votes, please bear in mind you will have to share your weekend with people who did not get a chance to vote because of you.
Any attempt to manipulate the voting system will be taken very seriously by ATP and could lead to your votes being disqualified. Play fair. Choose wisely.
Due to the specifications of the accommodation, there will be two prices for the tickets, £120 for Room Only accommodation and £140 for Self Catering accommodation both of which include free electricity.
Butlins Minehead looks out across a superb sandy beach. The new site not only has a supermarket, newsagent and cash points, it also has Burger King, Pizza Hut, Finnigan’s fish and chips, Sun and Moon, Skyline Cafe and Yacht Club Dining room. Onsite facilities include a cinema, Splash Water World - a sub-tropical environment that has a huge wave pool, a swimming pool, 3 flumes and also a flume based raft ride - Ten-pin bowling and amusement arcade. Sports include Archery, Football, Basketball, Darts, Petanque, Fencing, Kwik Cricket, Netball, Rounders, Table Tennis, Outdoor Bowls and Crazy Golf.
Room Only accommodation is available in 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 berths and offers either double, single or bunk beds with private bathroom and TV, but no kitchen facilities or lounge, more like a hotel room. (£120 + booking fee per ticket)
Self Catering accommodation is available in 4, 6 or 7 berths and offers private bathroom, full kitchen facilities and separate lounge area with TV. (£140 + booking fee per ticket)

i smell a thread merge comin on

Poo make gay stink are a great band. wish they had more input into broken social scene.
think im goin again this year. wanna wait for another name to be confirmed so that will push me more into it but at the same time i dont want to be ticketless

i just dont understand how indie fans have the opportunity to make atp deadly and are still voting in bands like do make say think and brightblasck morning light (whos album i just cant warm to at all) if smog and bonnoie prince billy appear on that bill then ive lost faith in the modern music fan.

oh shut up ramps

I'm with you ramps. I'm becoming more and more disillusioned by ATP. Same boring bands year after year. Remember when there was loads of bands you'd never seen before, let alone seen at ATP already???

Yeah OK they have a couple of new acts every time, but the odds are Timo will bring them over anyway.
