OK, now theyre big and famous its not cool to like them but I reckon this is the best number one single for as long as I can remember.

I dont even know when TOTP is on nowadays because its full of Pop bone idol crap.

Saw them in Whelans and didnt think they were 'the best thing ever', but they definitely had something good. Reminded me of a lot of dublin bands tbh, good tunes, good stage presence as in they werent boring shites who just played 30 mins and said fuck all.

Surely this could be a lot of bands here, I know they were supporting a local band my mates are into just a few months ago in a 'shitty upstairs room in a pub' in my hometown(as theyre from there)......and have to admit im very very fuckin biased for that reason.

Anyway, I presume thisll get ripped to piss with jokes about Monkeys arses but you cant deny this is a pretty major achievement, even though theyve had so much air/tvplay.

Why did the monkey cross the road?

To shit on theArctic Monkeys debut No. 1 single!

I just heard fellow new Domino signings Test Iceciles (sp?) record

I'm still laughing, I think it's first time I've said "do the kids actually like this shite" in an olden grandpa manner and actually meant it...

awful awful muck...

I think the Arctic Monkeys song sounds like an English version of that band Jet, which is bad news. I saw an interview with two of them on T4 (I  T4) that made me laugh.
Interviewer guy (dunno his name, I love him though): So apparently you two think the single is crap.
AM: Well... yeah.
Interviewer: I thought it was crap at first too, but now I really like it.
AM: Why did you think it was crap?
Interviewer: Oh, I just thought it was rubbish.

Today I am mostly recounting exchanges off the telly from memory.

I was on holidays for two weeks in Argentina during September - I didn't listen to another single album for the duration of the entire two weeks except the Monkey's one. It sounds sad, it sounds obsessive, but the album's that good.

Yeah, he's great....

Simon: How come you're not going by your Blazing Squad nicknames anymore?
Some guys from Blazing Squad: We don't think they're that cool anymore.
Simon: I thought they were stupid from the start.
-----
Simon: Do you have your eyebrows shaped?
Craig David: Just a little. I think it's ok for men to look after their appearance as long as they don't cross the line.
Simon: Do you think you've crossed the line?
Craig David: No.
Simon: Are you sure?
Craig David:....
Simon: You look evil. With those eyebrows.

Their not that good really!
