the lineup for the Dirty Three-curated All Tomorrow's Parties festival is shaping up to be typically high-quality for ATP, with Nick Cave (playing solo), Low, Magnolia Electric Co., Brokeback (aka Tortoise bassist Douglas McCombs), Tara Jane O'Neil, the Drones, Faun Fables, Grinderman, and Papa M (aka Slint/Will Oldham/Stereolab/Tortoise/Zwan member/collaborator David Pajo), in addition to Dirty Three themselves.

The last time I saw the dirty 3 was at the Leeds festival years ago and they were the secondlast band in the small tent. Calexico were on last in full Mariachi band mode and kicked off with the Tom T Hall song Tulsa Telephone Book.

I had dysentry or something and spent the whole time in remarkable discomfort.

I had to bail out half way through to get to the portaloos befor the Oasis fans set them on fire.

Then there was a riot

And then I got buckled and burnt the shit out of my feet teaching people that firewalking is easy - is the leidenfrost effect stupid!.
