ive been havin stomach problems since October and have been to the Doc a few times and its resulted in him tryin to send me to a specialist for an appointment that never materielized. i even suggested an allergy test to confirm that its not my diet and he dismissed it. typical irish 'im goin to rape for every penny you have' Doc attitude. fuck him.

i seem to have all the sympoms. fatigue. bloatyness. diaoehra(?) and other stuff. ive been eating healthilly since january so im not just a fat lazy bastard with a poor diet.

checked with a few people and it appears i may have 'Candida' - intolernace to yeast.

its been goin on too long with no results. obviously im goin not goin to give it up completely coz i checked what i shouldnt have and well, its everything.
http://www.althealth.co.uk/services/info/diets/candida_5.php

so ive decided to cut out beer (for the immediate future) (cut down on alcohol in general) and bread and cut down on dairy. fucking pain in the fucking arse.

im off yeasty stuff bout 5 days now and i havent had to run to the toilet once with a case of what i thought was IBS. appears to be workin.

has anyone else encountered experienced anything similar? and most imortantly does anyone have any good yeast-free recipees?

thanks

Aaron

Ah dude! That's nasty! I'm slightly intolerant but if I don't overdo it I'm ok.

You can get a lot of 'yeast free' goodies in healthfood shops.

Yeast Free stock is great for soups, stews and casseroles.

I had similar symptoms, but I think it's wheat in my case, though yeast could also be a problem. I don't drink beer, and now that I don't eat bread, I don't come into contact with it all that often. I do know that when I have broken down and eaten bread with yeast in it, I've seriously paid for it. I'm currently paying for eating some cake on Sunday. I suspect I will pay for it for a few more days.

You can be tested for food allergies, but intolerances are tricky, and you really have to discover them yourself, usually by keeping a food diary and cutting one food out at a time.

The thing about yeast is that you'll find you'll come into less contact with it than you would wheat or malt or other suchlike, so as long as you get used to reading labels, you should be fine.

Sucks, though.

You might want to get tested for coeliac disease because if you're feeling better off the bread, you might want to make sure it's not the gluten you're reacting to. If you had a serious allergy, you'd know about it by now, but lots and lots of people are intolerant to wheat and/or yeast, possibly because we eat so much of it.

A food intolerance is more of a nuisance, but coeliac disease is definitely something you'll want to know about. It can't kill you or anything, but it is more serious.

Could you try going to a nutritionist and getting some advice on how to do the food diary thing most effectively to find out what you're intolerant to?

Welcome to my world. Found out I couldnt eat it and a very nice boy that i happen to know was planning to make me home made pizza but I told him I couldnt have it because of the yeast. That was grand till his mother asked him when he was going to start making it and he said he couldnt make it because I couldnt eat yeast. His mother a lovely woman starts to question me about why I cant eat it and then she goes.....oh that canidia , the chap is just standing there going whats that? then he catches on what it is, (or so I thought) and then they go around the kitchen looking for stuff for me to eat. So later on that night we are just sittign around and he asks me what happens and I tell him he wouldnt understand and id be too embarrased any way to tell him. Then he annouces that he is going to ask his ma if I wont tell him. Ive to wrestle him to the ground to stop him. So then that morning I wake up to hear his ma asking his little sister to go down to the shop to get Rye bread because Roisin has thrush. Then that evening Triangle grrrl came over and we're sitting outside eating and I tell her the story and my fella catches on and I dont think ive ever seen him with the look of digust like he had on his face, when it dawned on him that it was thrush. Well I never thought this'd be in the food section.

AND ALL BECAUSE I LIke WHITE BREAD.

does the yeast make the damp rise when you have thrush?

It all the fault of those Cusine de France bagueuttes. They are the devil's excrement and should be avoided at all costs.

As well as be full of mik protiens they add gluten to them.

Hence half the country is sensitive to gluten
