35mm prime or 50mm prime for a 400d? (1 Viewer)

Ya think so?

I've only used one once and hated and went back to my other lens 5minutes later. Should I give it another go?

i mean, for a cheapo lens its pretty good.
obviously if you've another lens to choose from then it doesnt matter.
just for everyday snapping the 50mm is way too tight.

edit: THATS ALL JUST IMHO.

Ah right, carry on so. I'd defobe looking for it if I'd paid for it.

Have you had any dealings with the Sigma 17-35mm at all?

Hopefully gonna pick one up second hand after Christmas.

ive used the canon one.
its a great lens.
the difference between canon and sigma lenses is huge. i found that out with my 24-70 2.8
the price difference is huge but you really can notice a difference.
canon = much sharper and faster auto focus.
probably gonna be selling my sigma one soon.

Odd, the add actually says body only. The picture has a lens in it, but the writing quite clearly says body only.
I appear to be losing my mind, it happens when you give a lot of money to a stranger on the internet I guess........so be it.

Thing is it's still cheaper than anything else anywhere, in Ireland/UK at least.

Did someone say the 400D kit lens is good?

Spose optically it's not the worst. But it's totally shite, really. Built like a kinder surprise, and a rubbishly low aperture. Grand if you like low shutter speeds.

Sigma 24-70 or 17-35? All the reviews I've read of that sigma have been good. Although obviously the Canon for twice(three times?) the price is gonna be better.

Good for free.
