It seems zombies are "in" these days, lots of big money going into the pictures. I have to say, I was positively surprised by the Dawn of the Dead remake...but still, zombies running...? No thanks...and this is even stupider:

That's why I reckon the "28..." ones are cool, they're not supposed to be zombies, it's just a reconceptualisation of a great old idea.

Oh yeah, and anyone seen the clip for the Call of Cthulu movie coming out? It looks SO SHIT. SO FUCKING DUMB. They've turned The Shadow Over Innsmouth into a really really fucking dumb modern American movie with romantic subplot etc. Doesn't even deserve a link (probly still go see it though)

To finish on a positive note, fuck all the zombie movies, it seems like all the good zombie movies that are ever gonna be made have been made, so if you've not checked out Children of Men it's another actually decent end-of-mankind, apocalypse movie:

Oh fuck it, now that i'm thinking about it, this Russian film Night Watch is great aswell. Really classic original storyline, good vs evil trilogy with some great twists:

I'm a little bit sceptical about how it'll turn out since a lot of American money has been pumped into it. Still could be very good on the strenght of the first installment.

Yeah fair play. Did you see that shitty Night of The Living Dead rethread from about 1994? Ends with the young wan doing a ripley on the undead. Piss poor. My favourite's still the original Dawn of The Dead, especially for the one-legged priest. He's amazing.
I saw Zombie Apocolypse ( i think that was the title) on tv years ago and it's great for the ending alone. I remember being at home on my own fairly freaked out by it and the phone rang just as the movie ended. I picked up and no-one was there.

I was so excited, hearing rumours for years about the 4th "...of the Dead" planned to be made by Romero, mad excited about the prospect, thought it was all made-up bullshit, and then he actually makes it...and it's SO SHIT. At first I was like "Ah, ah it's okay..." and then I had to admit to myself it was shit. The worst thing was that there's a fuckin great backstory; world fucked by the dead, rich cunts livin it up in ivory towers, then get their shit fucked...but then they throw in all this other dopey shit. Your man the down's syndrome zombie shootin a fuckin gun...christ...and the fuckin Teletubby bus they fly around in...come on...and the little shit on the skateboard...jesus, FUCKIN AMERCIANS.

Why re-re-make Night Of The Living Dead? The original is great and the Savini remake isn't that bad. That new remake looks like its worse quality than the original. But if you're looking for a really bad zombie flick, check out "Zombie Christ." I've only seen a few parts but I've heard I was terrible. I'm not even sure if its a legit film or just crappy scenes sewn together. Zombie movies keep coming back every few years but every now and then there's a really good one. That Day of The Dead film isn't even a sequel or remake, it's just a use of the Romero franchise in an horrific (not in a good way) manner.
