6-8 weeks in the cast. Still hurts like fook. Never broke a bone before.

Fibula, down near the ankle

My last round of phyisical incapacity/physio was when i got the most guitar playing/development that i had done in years

yep. i think the bride had terminal eyeroll by the time she was walking up the aisle.

Bone throbbing pain subsides a bit, I have lots of practise to catch up on for a gig in September.

Having finally been seen by Letterkenny hospital (6 hours in A&E for an xray and review)
I have to be admitted for surgery.
Break distance is too large to be left heal on its own.
Will have bones pinned and shit.
But won't happen until tomorrow.

Jesus that's ramped up a fair bit- how's it for pain now?

my cousin was knocked down near drogheda, and they had to put temporary pins in his shoulder, but said it'd be fine if he went to letterkenny to have them removed (he lives in inishowen).
so six or eight or however many weeks later, he woke up in letterkenny to be told that they opened him up, looked at the screws, and closed him back up again. seems that at the time - this was over 20 years ago - our lady of lourdes in drogheda (and one other hospital, i think) used a different supplier to all the other hospitals, and letterkenny didn't have the correct proprietary screwdriver to remove them.

Also keep an eye out for a knee scooter, if you can use one. We got one (well loved one) on adverts, they're about 300 quid new but we paid 80.

But be prepared for the inevitable 'not an e-scooter, it's a knee scooter' conversations.
