First Reformed. Schrader returning to his Taxi Driver “God’s lonely man” roots. Excellent stuff. Seriously tense stuff towards the end.

Eyes Wide Shut - I read the novella this was based on when I was in Vienna; I hadn't seen the film before. Pretty good; not a great Kubrick though and some of the acting was a bit rubbish, but not bad all the same.

a sicilian ghost story

No idea what this was going to be about. The poster for it looked a bit gothic so I thought it might be a horror film or something. An Italian film set in Sicily which shows the more realistic or less glamours side of the mafia. There is a romantic element and also it is a bit mysterious or dreamlike or as was quoted on the poster it is beguiling. Good performances from young actors and also based on true story.

The Ed Norton Hulk movie, not as bad as I'd been led to believe.

Hardcore, on the recommendation of @Bernie Lomax, terrific. Going to continue my run of Paul Schrader movies tomorrow by seeing First Reformed in the lighthouse.

Hardcore is so grimy and disturbing but brilliant. Loved First Reformed. In my top 5 of this year

I thought it was sort of like 8mm meets the limey but better than both (I think the limey is great though, 8mm is obviously shit)
