why is the bottom of my fridge filling with water over a period of a few days? where is this water coming from? i'm not putting any in there.

There's a little well, usually at the rear centre of your fridge, that collects condensation. When this gets blocked, water starts to run down the bottom of the fridge.

also, make sure your door seal is properly... umm.. sealing... a fridge will pull a lot of extra moisture out of the air if the seal is broken...
