The Jimmy Cake‘s long awaited 4th LP Master is out next week. Can’t wait that long? Here’s an exclusive go of album closer Teen Mist to tide you over

Teen Mist is the shortest track on the LP, clocking in at a radio friendly 15 minutes and 10 seconds long, so do please put the kettle on there, will you?

Master will be released on Friday 28th August is available to preorder now from The Jimmy Cake’s Bandcamp page.

Just 2724 days since their last album, 2008’s highly acclaimed Spectre & Crown, The Jimmy Cake are already set to unleash Master, their epic & serpentine fourth record. Master is three compositions laid out over a 72-minute journey through space, time and a musty & secluded railway arch off North Strand Road, Dublin where engineer, producer & hero John Spud Murphy lost his mind but gained a twitch. Gone are the lush strings & understated beats of Spectre & Crown, replaced by vintage synths & psychedelic rhythms to create an ever-morphing, technicoloured behemoth of a record.

Available on CD, 180g double vinyl & download, Master is accompanied by blackly comical album artwork by UK illustrator & cult hero Jack Teagle & housed in a magnificently eccentric design by band member Paul G Smyth.

The Jimmy Cake will be accompanied on the night by a second drummer in the form of the legendary Charles Hayward of This Heat & Camberwell Now with support from the very mighty Twinkranes.
