The Redneck Manifesto to play Clonakilty International Guitar Festival

The Redneck Manifesto will play their only gig of 2016 in Clonakilty on September 18th

They’ll be appearing in DeBarra’s on the final day of the Clonakilty International Guitar Festival which this year runs from September 15th to 18th. There’s also talk from a fairly reliable source of a proper TRM tour next year as a fundraiser for the recording of a new LP which they’ve already started writing, so expect to hear some new material.

Along with the The Redneck Manifesto, Adrian Crowley and The Spook of The Thirteenth Lock have just been added to the bill, so the festival’s full lineup (so far) is:

The Membranes, Wyvern Lingo, The Redneck Manifesto, Brett Newski, Bill Shanley, All Our Exes Live in Texas, Adrian Crowley, Soothsayers, Steve ‘Smiley’ Barnard, Steve Cooney, Richard Gilewitz, The Franklys, Úlaid, John Spillane, Oose, Shoutin’ Red, Stephen Housden, Vespertine Quintet, Crow Black Chicken, Spook Guitar Orchestra, The Vinegar Creek Constituency, Fintan McKahey, The Music Generation Bus, Breakfast with the Ink Spots, Transmission Club, The Jam Van, Ukulele-le-cheile

Clonakilty International Guitar Festival is delighted to announce THE REDNECK MANIFESTO will be bringing their impassioned live show to this year’s festival which takes place 15th-18th September. The quintet of Mervyn Craig, Matthew Bolger, Richie Egan, Niall Byrne and Neil O’Connor will be performing new material at what will be their only show this year.

The Clonakilty International Guitar Festival will also be acknowledging the Centenary of 1916 by hosting a performance of a piece written by the critically acclaimed genre defying trad/prog metal band SPOOK OF THE THIRTEETH LOCK. This ambitious project will feature an 18 piece orchestra: 16 guitarists, 1 bassist and 1 drummer, as well as visuals prepared for projection to accompany the performance.

Other stellar additions to this year’s line up include Choice Award winning musician, ADRIAN CROWLEY joining the VESPERTINE QUINTET for a collaborative performance, Original White lightning members JEFF WARD & NOEL GILBERT JONES returns with old pal STEVE ‘SMILEY’ BARNARD (Joe Strummer/Robbie Williams) on drums, regarded as one of the finest guitarists in the world STEPHEN HOUSDEN, dream-hop experimental ambivalent instrumental of OOSE, gritty sonic depth of Irish songwriter MARC O’REILLY, Cork 5 piece TRANSMISSION CLUB, and Spanish singing sensation PAULA GOMEZ.

With 90% of the events across the festival entirely free, the festival prides itself as a celebration of the guitar and making music accessible to everyone.
