Seven Quarters‘ Christmas Party will take place in Whelan’s on 19th December, with Not Squares and Percolator and a free 7″ single
NOT SQUARES
Not Squares have been busy refining their unique brand of disco-pop sensibilities into a seamless stream of danceable grooves ready for release in Spring 2015. Their new album ‘Bolts’ is produced by Tom Fox and features a host of new tracks progressing their palette of arps, yelps, bass and drums. Their live set is still as visceral as ever with staples such as ‘Asylum’ and ‘Release the Bees’ sitting alongside recent tracks ‘Beat Below’, ‘Fall Far’ and their new single ‘Oops Said Hi’.
Not Squares debut album ‘Yeah OK’ was released in 2010 on Dublin’s legendary Richter Collective label. They have played Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds, Latitude Festivals, recorded a BBC Maidavale Session for Huw Stephens, toured Japan in 2011, and the UK and Ireland numerous times. They will play the Oh Yeah Centre in Belfast on 18th December and Whelans in Dublin on the 19th December where new track ‘Oops Said Hi’ will be released as a limited edition split single by Seven Quarters.
PERCOLATOR
Krautrock/Shoegaze practitioners Percolator specialize in the alchemical fusion of motorik beats, lush sonic textures, chiming strings and androgynous porcelain vocals. The band are at the peak of their substantial live performance powers at present following a recent line-up tweek which saw the addition of thunderous low end and a multitude of ‘in-the-zone’ facial expressions via John ‘Spud’ Murphy. A recent string of blistering live performances largely featuring material from their burgeoning debut album (slated for release in the new year) have been steadily building anticipation towards its imminent release.
