There’s a weekend of events lined up at Dublin’s autonomous social centre Seomra Spraoi to mark the move to their new home.

Seomra Spraoi is an autonomous social centre in Dublin city centre. It is run by a non-hierarchical collective on a not-for-profit basis. It hosts workshops, gigs, political meetings, film screenings, a vegan cafe and lots more. The centre seeks to be a hub of positive resistance in a city and society where public spaces have been eaten away by consumerism, property speculation and the culture of the car. Read more about Seomra Spraoi.

It is a focal point for action, a place to perform, a space to be creative, and perhaps most importantly of all, a place for people of different backgrounds and nationalities to discuss and have lively arguments about anything, from politics to the music of Stevie Wonder.

There’ll be live music, hot food, gardening, a film screening and children’s activities; workshops on bike repair, stencil graffiti, electronic music and cross-stitching; a radical walking tour of the area, some political discussions and a fancy dress party.
