The first time we heard Laurel Halo’s Quarantine, her debut LP on Hyperdub, we felt like we’d been lobotomized. Second time around, the very structure of our sensory receptors had changed. And on the third, we knew we had to bring her to Dublin.Widely-hailed as one of the albums of the year, they don’t come better, or more brain-mangling than Quarantine. Halo marries the production of dub techno to something wholly new – vocal-orientated, sparse, cold, but inviting. Her live show will feature very special visual accompaniment from Konx Om Pax [Hudson Mohawke. Martyn, Lone]
One somethingteenth of Patrick Kelleher and His Cold Dead Hands/Children Under Hoof, Ger Duffy’s School Tour project seeps with spectral vintage keyboards, kraut rhythms, and reverbed vocals.
You can also catch a Feel Good Lost exhibition in the Twisted Pepper café & an AV show in the Loft, a Night Mall in the basement with stalls from Elastic Witch, The Silver Factory, Beaux Bows, This Greedy Pig, The Blind Tiger Collective, All City, R.A.G.E., Tahiti and Revolver Project AND there’ll be a Lucky Dip for all who pay through the door, with lots of SURPRISES, possibly including gig and theatre tickets, booze and more…
