Feminist Film Festival – The New Theatre, 30th & 31st August

Tickets are available now for the Feminist Film Festival which takes place in The New Theatre on 30th & 31st August

The Feminist Film Festival is a totally independent fund-raising event. We do not receive funding or sponsorship and 100% of what we make goes to an amazing charity which supports, trains and educates victims of sex trafficking in Nepal called Sasane. International non-profit Planeterra will also match our fund-raising euro for euro, so we will double the contribution!

We believe it’s important to celebrate women in film who are so often under-represented in terms of film-makers and in crews, and misrepresented in terms of character portrayal and through stereotypical roles. We are proud to be screening some fantastic films written, directed, and about women, including the theatrical Irish Premiere of Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me and a screening of two Vivienne Dick films, The Irreducible Difference of the Other and She Had Her Gun All Ready, followed by a Q&A with the director. As well as this we will screen Orlando, Persepolis, Fish Tank, Bananas on the Breadboard and feminist classic Jeanne Dielman, 23 Quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles. Each feature will also be preceded by a short film.
