Quite unexpectedly, and in association with Note Productions, we are going to be resident in the beautiful Christ Church Cathedral for New Year’s Eve. It’s always a strange time of year, and it has been a long time since we have spent it in Dublin, so we want to make it extra special.
It has been a long journey from the days of basement parties in Clarendon House, to ringing the bells in Christ Church Cathedral, so thank you for continuing to support our slightly mad adventures.
We have a really lovely set of people performing on the night. As well as the brilliant Alasdair Roberts, Dónal Lunny, Iarla Ó’Lionáird, ANDERSON, NiamhMcCormackSings, and some surprise guests, we have the extraordinary Moonface/Spencer Krug.
Serendipity seems to have worked its magic, and we cannot think of a better setting to experience the man who composed this work –

Our house DJ’s this time will be Daragh O’Halloran, and Ed Smith, doors are at 8pm, and will include cake, there will be a little bar, and also, while we get ready for the bells to be rung for New Year’s Day, to witness a symbol of a new beginning, another chance, there will be a champagne reception.
This one is more expensive than we have ever done (€45/€40 – from entertainment.ie) because Christ Church set the price, it’s the same amount for their New Year’s concert every year – but it does mean that we will raise a lot for the Simon Community (cross fingers), and we will try to make it the most magical experience for you all.
We would like to wish you all a very restful, restorative Christmas break, and that 2014 is gentle to you. Life can be really difficult, it is one of the reasons we set up Young Hearts; to raise money for a good cause, yes, but also to create events where we can forget our troubles, if only for a while and feel a real sense of community.
