Omar Rodriguez Lopez of Mars Volta & At The Drive In, brings his Group to Dublin on Tuesday October 2nd. This performance will also feature Mars Volta Drummer Deantoni Parks, and the incredible Teri Gender Bender of Le Butcherettes on lead vocals. Omar has been pretty prolific over the last 16 years, amassing over 40 albums (40!), a Grammy Award and even making Rolling Stone’s greatest guitarists of all time list. That’s some haul.
Along with Teri taking center stage and The Mars Volta drummer Deantoni Parks once again in their ranks on this tour, this incarnation of the ORLG will henceforth function as a democracy — a dynamic, shape-shifting band in the truest sense. What they intend to achieve this autumn will be nothing short of a total reinvention of themselves. Whatever that actually means is anyone’s guess, but it promises to be intriguing.
