oh and the embedded link to boards.ie forces the 'Cloud' skin onto you

Real Player works fine on a Mac (OSx)
Winamp link launches iTunes which also plays fine.

Audio is louder and bassier through RealPlayer, but distorts.

Loads of browser windows open up, that annoying.

grand...I'll bring the levels down a tad and see if that stops overmod.

96kbps is really low quality. You should up it to at least 128kbps.

what web radio do you listen to????
Power FM is the one I'd listen to most often. According to their site the broadband steamy thing "autodetects" your speed and then streams at either 32/64/128kbps depending on your connection. Whenever I listen from work or at home it's always 128kbps though. (at home I've got a 512k/128k DSL connection)

The quality is good enough for me to record shows off Power FM and listen back later on. On XFM I'd normally listen to the Chillage Idiots show but the sound quality is noticeably lower (and I don't mean the music they play, boom boom). You'd be surprised at the difference between 96kbps and 128kbps.

yes but there stuck with windows media which although good at 128, iis warbally under 80k. Multiplex streaming isn't worth the bother as it tends to hop from high to low and back again depending on restrictions along the route.
hmm....'ll have a go at 128 during the week.
