its been a throbbing gristle day so far, dipping into the tg24 set. so far:
tg - brighton polytechnic 1978 (e-coli, anthony, why does carol wash brown bread, you smell like a dog, wall of sound)
tg - rat club london 1977 (tesco disco, knife in my side, assume power focus, urge to kill, wall of sound)
tg - art college winchester 1977 (a nod and a wank, feeling critical)
tg - goldsmith college london 1978 (ibm, its always the same, hamburger lady, doa, mother spunk, wall of sound)
tg - berlin 1980 (stained by dead horses, trained condition of obiendiece, the old man smiled, raudive bunker experiment, trade deficit)

Is that a good box Brian? What years does it span?
Presume it must be over €300 to buy...

i started thinking about him yesterday when i was buying cheese!
not heard him in years
must root out all that old shit. (like i ever will)

Presume it must be over €300 to buy...

its the first 24 gigs (the inital orders got a bonus cd of gig number 25) after that their are 10 more gigs, collected on the "+10" box. tg24 spans 1976 - 1980. it is an expensive purchase, i must admit. some of the performances are like better versions of the albums, though. in particular, the goldsmiths college one from 1978 is like "D.O.A." but much better, and the manchester factory one is like "jazz funk greats" but much much better. i think they should have made individuals gigs from it available for sale. even casual tg fans are probably not going to want dozens of cds of distorted improvisation. i cant get enough of it myself.

i personally think tg's best moments were from their live performances, usually 76 - 78. its a real shame most of these gems remain unknown.

its a hell of alot better than that fecking merzbox anyhow!

get f.u.c.t. too, before evening out... but don't bother with the expanded edition - bonuses aren't great, tho i have seen it 2nd hand for about 8 blips.

Quite good but nothing outstanding on it. Tracks 2 and 3 are best. Needs more time.
