Only listened to this for the first time yesterday, and it's amazing

Like I want to send it to everyone amazing
Have you heard the story behind it? Bryan's had a recording of a tramp singing (I can't remember if he recorded it himself or found it in an archive) and wanted to make it loop. That being the days of making actual tape loops and recording it over and over again (as opposed to making a sample and sequencing it or copying and pasting it into a computer file), he made the loop and set it playing over and over again while recording it. He went off for lunch and came back to find everyone in the studio crying. He did another version of it years later with Tom Waits singing over the tramp and it's awful, Waits doing his fake hobo thing over the voice of an actual down and out is like some white guy in black face singing over Louis Armstrong.

Also, it was originally released on Brian Eno's label Obscure with another Bryars piece on the b-side, The Sinking of the Titanic, which is even more marvellous. It's worth reading about and having a listen to.

I can't find the original 1975 version (which is only about 20 minutes) but this version from about ten years ago is something special:
