I reckon it's a toss up between "Like a Hurricane" by Neil Young and "Rudie can't fail" by the Clash.

I believe Vietnam by the Minutemen should get an honorable mention along with Long Division by Fugazi.

Impossible, but this is a compilation of songs I have never, and doubt I ever will get sick of listening to over and over and over and over…. (in no particular order)

Stevie Wonder- Knocks Me Off My Feet
Steely Dan- Peg
Aretha Franklin- Since You’ve Been Gone
Otis Redding- Respect
Rufus Wainwright- Go or Go Ahead
Level 42- Something About You

Queen- Killer Queen
Mastodon- Blood and Thunder
Cardiacs- Two Bites of Cherry
Talking Heads- It’s My Life
Stevie Wonder- Bird of Beauty

Red House Painters- Song for a Blue Guitar
Red House Painters- Katy Song
Aretha Franklin- You’re All I Need to get by
Crass- Systematic Death
Cocteau Twins- Ivo
Beatles- For No One
Cardiacs- Bellyeye
Stevie Wonder- I Believe When I Fall in Love
Nomeansno- Everyday I Start to Ooze
John Cale- Paris 1919
Shudder to Think- X French T-shirt
Nomeansno- Oh no! Bruno!
Melvins- A Civilsed Worm
Paul Brady and Andy Irvine- Arthur McBride
Melvins- Goin’ Blind
Phil Lynott- Old Town
Toto- Africa

Sam Cooke- Bring it on Home to Me
REM- You Are the Everything
Kate Bush- Man with the Child in his Eyes
Led Zepplin- Black Dog
Cheap Trick- Mandocello
Leonard Cohen- Famous Blue Raincoat
Nick Kershaw- Dancing Girls
Autechre- Cichli

that'd be a pretty deadly compilation.

You should play that set some night yer DJing.

Off the top of my head I can think of 5 people who list this as their favourite or one of their top three songs of all time. Me included (I forgot to put it on my list). It's so awesome.

Sure wasn't I sitting at the table beside the Family Dermody for the Jimmy Webb concert... the sound of gentle sobbing could be noted during Witchita Lineman... also I thought the place was going to get wrecked during "Up Up And Away In My Beautiful Balloon"

EVER: "Stepping Out" by Joe Jackson OR "What Becomes of the Broken Hearted" by Jimmy Ruffin

Years and years of amassing hundreds of metal/hardcore/whatever records, and these are still the best songs in the world as far as I'm concerned.

TODAY: "Dungeon Song" out of that Dr Seuss film.Just because it's fucking terrifiying.
