I had the IT guy in work reinstall windows(xp) and do a general tidy up of my PC. Now the PC will not detect my wifi stick in any of the USB ports.

Is there something I can do to force this? Device Manager says all the ports are working so it seems the issue is with the dongle. But it was fine before the reinstallation.

Any ideas?

Hey, I had a similar problem years ago when I reinstalled xp on a old laptop and the sound would not work.

Basically the device driver is gone.

Get the WiFi stick model and search for the correct driver to download and install. I also believe the WiFi sticks have the drivers on the stick and you can reinstall it from there.

You can goolge how to do that if you don't know how, Uncle Google has the answer to almost anything.Hope that resolves it.

Thanks! I guess I can download the driver to a USB stick via another PC. I thought the driver would be in the thing itself but apparently not.

Cheers for that.
