Being new to car ownership I was dreading having to deal with mechanics but have met 2 wonderful ones in one week. First one couldn't do the job so passed the second guy's name on to me and didn't charge for call-out. Lovely chaps. Unlike the crap experience I had in the Herbert Park Hotel bar at lunch-time yesterday. Scabby bastards.

they're fantastic. i still like going there even though i've had this exchange about twenty times:

"great, can i take your name?"
"lisa carbide."
"carbide?? oh! do you know bill clinton's irish family were [erm] carbides? and when he was over here, they visited the pub, because of the name, and..."

every time i go in there he apologises for not remembering my name.
i've found myself in there half an hour after closing time, chatting to them. they're incredibly nice people.
