any ever fly ryanair into trieste?

anyone know anything about trieste?

know the distance to dubrovnik perhaps?

It used to belong to Germany/Austria during the second world war. there's fuck all there. it's by the sea and it's a fair distance from dubrovnik. there's no trains to dubrovnik from the north (ie anywhere in croatia, italy, slovenia etc.

Try Jardolinja ferries for an all round ferry ticket from rijeka (in the north) to dubrovnik. alternatively go to bosnia and get the train from sarajevo near to dubrovnik (good luck with that)

you'd probably be better off flying ryanair to klagenfurt in southern austria, the trains about 10 euro to lubljana in slovenia, then make your way from there.

also the airport ryanair flys to that they call trieste, isnt really trieste, you have to take a hour ad a half bus to get to actual trieste. if you do do that, dont bother to go the whole way to trieste, probably you can get off the bus at malfolcone and get the train to ljubljana from there.

and if you stop in ljubljana, go to metelkova!!!!!!!!! its near the train station. really. at night. remember they pronounce "u"s as "ooo"'s. and its not metalkova. is more like metell-kova

Treiste - James Joyce lived and taught there for a bit.I only passed though it on a train.

Better to fly into Lubjijana(i think some airline flys there from here?) or into Kalingrat(or whatever its called) - bus it down to Lubjijana stopping off in Lake Bled for a night(amazing place) -and then onto Lubjijana and check out the Metalkova for gigs!Nice city too.
That ferry idea sounds deadly if your going from Slovenia to Dubrovnik - travel down through the islands to Dubrovnik.Heard its one of the best trips you can go on - stopping off at islands along the way....you`d want to have plenty time for that.Otherwise....

Train to Zagreb from Lubjijana(3 hours) then go by Croatian airlines fly from Zagreb to Dubrovnik for about 20euro(takes 50minutes); i went for that instead of the 8 hour bus journey which costs the same.
Zagreb = boring really.
Stay away from trains in bosnia(v bad) if you going there(Sarajevo and Mostar are great) - staying other towns off the beatin track(pun pun) is not the best idea, would`nt be much fun - bus is the best form of transport around croatia and bosnia.
And don`t walk on the grass!

Slovenia is overlooked big time i think - a gem of a place.Highly recommend staying about ther for 3 or 4 days(Lake Bled/Lubjijana).

Cutting a long story short i did this - Venice(4 star hotel) - Train to Treiste(1 or so hours) - 1 hour from there to Lubjiana - 3 hours to Zagreb by train(maybe less) - 50 minutes by plane to Dubrovnik(stay away from the hostel there).
Take a month off Trev - you`ve been working to hard anyway.

easyjet flies direct to ljubljana now!

(bled is kinda dull unless the lake is frozen. zagreb is pretty dull too, except for this one weird archway people walk through to get from one street to another, that has a shrine in it, and everyone stops to say a prayer. Hvala Gospoda!)
