listening to nlgbbbbth's cd for the second time, fantastic stuff, many thanks for that... alot of old favourites of mine on it. nlg, have you heard william burroughs "nothing here now but the recordings"? collection of his very early tape cut up experiments, amazing stuff. also, the amazing group mirror did a gorgeous and lengthy remix / reversion of morricone's "ninna nanna...", which was side one of "nights".

Glad you like it. Thanks very much for the TG stuff.
Have a Burroughs taped tape with no tracklisting. Believe it dates from early on. Good stuff.

aye, the tg gigs at the scala cinema and the factory are from the 20 jazz funk great era. the first half of the factory gig is fairly slow and subdued, but the second half is amazing and intense. it features the best ever version of "what a day" which has a superb extended introduction. the scala cinema gig is slightly weaker in general (all in own opinion though) but has the best ever version of "convincing people", again with an excellent extended tape sample intro. the goldsmiths college gig is from the d.o.a. third annual report era, and has the first and best rendition of "hamburger lady". the whole second half of that gig is superb (listen out for the chain-swallower) and is totally ahead of its time, almost breathtakingly so. the nuffield southampton gig is an all improvised one, and one of the earliest, and definately i think the best thing in the 24 set.

the burroughs stuff with someville is early, have you ever seen the cut up videos done with brion gysin? they are fascinating.

13 Albert Hammond - It Never Rains In Southern California

This guys cassette was the first album I managed to wear out with overplay. I wanted to be him, marry him and play in his free electric band all from the age of five...

Just give me bread and water, put a guitar in my hand
'Cos all I need is music and the Free Electric Band.
