Listened to approx 6 cohen albums at the weekend in the space of 12 hours. I'm all about 'I'm your man' and the 'you want it darker' for now.

The bass is tuned awfully on songs from a room.

Same here! Funnily enough, I love the sound/ mood on Songs From a Room. It's my on-and-off favourite of all his albums.

Oh it was all the rage at one time. Beatles records are sometimes like that, and qotsa's songs for the deaf has 2-3 of those aswell.

Yeah, it was back when stereo was new and instead of creating a space with it in the way we're accustomed to, they just split the instruments so it sounded like you were literally in the middle of the band.
