Dunno why thread was locked, was just trying to get an interesting discussion going on the power of marketing and hype, rather than the sniping and off topic nonsense it has turned into.
for the record I like both bands but am really intrigued how the big bucks didn't win out over the low budget on this occasion.

big bucks probably didnt win cos the music was so godawful. even with a low budget, the immediate album sounds amazing and it has brill songs.
