Originally yes. Now I live in town though. I don't care what you say about the northside, it doesn't really matter to me. I do care about shitty attitudes towards Reggae though. Anyway, which posh part of the southsdie are you from Ballyfermot, Tallaght or Crumlin? If you know what I mean.:p :p :p

How impressive.

Do you mean bad timing?
Has anyone got I'm Happy and I'm Singing and a 1, 2, 3, 4 , the CD he released on Mego at the same time as Inignificance?
It seems to have been roundly ignored, probably cos no shops stock Mego. Shame, cos Mego is a great label.

There was a funny article in a TCD mag about JOR last year, attempting to review Insignificance in the context of Jim's entire career, as if it were some new pinnacle, and he were moving in a linear musical progression. Unfortunately the reviewer didn't seem to know about 1,2,3,4, which made me laugh.

Jeepers, what a lot of text to waste on a guy whose music I don't even liek very much. Have you heard Terminal Pharmacy? Yuk!

Dizzy Gillespie - Afro
Julie Murphy - Lilac Tree
Dead C - s/t
NNCK - Songs from the Earth
(these last two sound surprisingly similar)

...plus the usual supply of Keiji Haino bootlegs (Fred Frith duos this week)

Well...... actually I *AM* from the South side mate... *cough* ... *VERY* South! :D:D:D

It looks like it's a crime to like reggae down here... it's quite common in the "south" (Italy, Spain, France, etc...)

bloody Anglo-Saxons.... ;)

To be honest I was shocked when I went to a Bob Marley Tribute concert @ Olympia and found ONLY splif mad knackers.... :(

COLDPLAY SUCK MORE THAN A VACUUM CLEANER!

Oh, and a Hard Sleeper CD I got at Vibrator in Tommy House on monday. Very good ambient electronica + percussion.

hmmm, i reside in temple bar and am heading to cork!

as for spliff-mad knackers listening to reggae, well i *don't* like reggae (for no other reason than it's not a preference)...but yeah, bear in mind that spliff mad-knackers like marley cause *they* associate him with spliff and it gives them some other culture to identify with. this is no reflection on the quality of the music.

but yeah...don't like it but i REALLY don't like spliff-mad knackers!

oh, and before anyone has a go, bear in mind i already *know* i put very little thought into this...i'm bored in work fer chrissakes.

i reckon they should be put in a field with all the weekender "alternative" kids in temple bar, play them S Club 7 at ear-bleeding levels till they crack and see which side survives!
