there:
tom (ex-silo now tom.), conor (bongo video guy), ro (mumblin' deaf ro), kieran (lorcanzo), cormac (egg_), conor, richie (michaelknight), two lads from gigsmart (tom and niall?) and declan (cookiemonster).
video
conorbongo said (update from hot press) Hot Press are doing a thing in conjunction with NYU where they're going to provide 5 bands with the opportunity to work with people doing the "NYU Video Production Course" to make pop videos. The stuff has to go to them as detailed here http://www.hotpress.com/music/news/2672686.html
tour
kieran is not able to make necessary phone calls etc. to organise the tour at the moment but he has a good idea what needs to be done and has been in touch with some places including some universities up north. he said this time it may be better to organise one person to be responsible for each gig rather than him having to organise the whole thing. he said that one he gets a new job he should be able to sort it all out so that it happens within 2 months.
distro
ro said that stuff is selling quite slowly from the dublin shops (distro outside dublin is not a goer at the moment). it was suggested that bands make an effort to promote their stuff themselves but also do do things like in store gigs in tower and maybe to organise another flyer to have on the stall with pics of the releases etc.
zine
tom and conor both volunteered to give billy a hand with the zine as he has his plate full at the moment.
online things 'radio'
declan (cookiemonster) is going to setup an online audio stream. we're going to use the money from the first tour to pay for this. it looks at the moment like any band can request a tune be put on it but we could also include interviews etc. that people have done.
listings
i said i'd like to change the weekly email to reflect more what things is about rather than it being a list of pretty random gigs - not many people are submitting gig details anymore so it is up to me to add stuff in - hence the lack of band descriptions etc. its ended up with the email being useful only for folk that already know what's going on. i'm going to change the email to include news items, useful articles and highlight some recommended gigs each week with a further link to the full listings and to the audio stream once it is up and running.
i think that's it?
