The only girl I've ever loved
Was born with roses in her eyes
But then they buried her alive
One evening 1945
With just her sister at her side
And only weeks before the guns
All came and rained on everyone
Now she's a little boy in Spain
Playing pianos filled with flames
On empty rings around the sun
All sing to say my dream has come

But now we must pick up every piece
Of the life we used to love
Just to keep ourselves
At least enough to carry on

And now we ride the circus wheel
With your dark brother wrapped in white
Says it was good to be alive
But now he rides a comet's flame
And won't be coming back again
The Earth looks better from a star
That's right above from where you are
He didn't mean to make you cry
With sparks that ring and bullets fly
On empty rings around your heart
The world just screams and falls apart

But now we must pick up every piece
Of the life we used to love
Just to keep ourselves
At least enough to carry on

And here's where your mother sleeps
And here is the room where your brothers were born
Indentions in the sheets
Where their bodies once moved but don't move anymore
And it's so sad to see the world agree
That they'd rather see their faces fill with flies
All when I'd want to keep white roses in their eyes

yea, what a fuckin album.that ones called holland, 1945 isnt it?

another favourite of mine is
"and mom would drink until she was no longer speaking
and dad would dream of all the different ways to die
each one a little more than he would dare to TRRRRRRRYYYYYY!
AAAAAAYYY AAYYYYYY AYYYYY!"

or
"Semen stains the mountain tops"

these posts, "this guy is way cooler than you" and posts which just quote lyrics... i dunno, they're kinda lame. sorry pants. are you trying to make out like you're as sensitive as the lyrics? i don't get it.

Oh, yeah Hag, definately. Anyway...

"I love you Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ I love you
Yes I do

I love you Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ I love you
Yes I do

And on the lazy days
The dogs dissolve and drain away
The world it goes
And all awaits
The day we are awaiting"

Ace Pantone. Your post served as notice to go listen again. Thank yous.

I like pantone's infrequent series of whats cool, reminds me to listen to records that I might not have listened to in a while. This lot are floating my boat today.

Some folks like water
Some folks like wine
But I like the taste
Of straight strychnine

You may think it's funny
That I like this stuff
But once you've tried it
You can't get enough

Wine is red
Poison is blue
Strychnine is good

For what's ailin' you

ah haggy, you're the only one with the monoply on sensative posts here with your turning over new leaves and missing people and wondering what love is.

No that post be lyrics to a neutral milk hotel song, I just got it on CD recently after only having it MP3'd, and it is bloody amazing. The whole thing is just fuzzed up noise, and just when you think it can't get any louder or madder the feckin horn section comes in. The whole album is real out there... brilliant.

Apparantly the song is about Anne Frank too... bizzare... poor Jeff Magnum

Yeah so I was just like 'this is cool, I'll post something on thumped about it'

Given Mangum's lack of recent (and future?) output, you could do worse than to check out John Vanderslice at:

them the sonics? any good?

funny bloke on the left looks like the singer from Franz F, the bloke in the middle looks like Lee Mavers from The La's and there is a bit of Pete Libertiens to the lad second from the right....

Blke at the end looks like Patrick Mahoon from The Prisioner but...

Damn straight, reckon you'd be well into them. If the boy Martin comes through with what he promises, we will have to have another one of our infrequent meetings and I'll bring it along, or play it if we're at our gaff. Here is another photo in the menatime though.
