As of late the odtr closed down "majic fm" limericks pirate *rock* station. im not saying it was very good(in fact it was shit for the most part) but yer man promoted the fuck out of underground bands coming to limerick. Are stations in dublin (phantom,xfm.) liscenced? it seems from what ive heard that a liscence would cost more that £50,000 and there would have to be news/sport on the hour etc. anyone?

Eh, no neither has a licence but recently those shits cracked down on a number of pirates but said something like as long as they didn't do anything stupid they'd be left alone to set themselves back up broadcasting after being dropped down to the bottom of the target list.

well there was no second chance given here. limerick 95fm sent in a compaint and that was the end of it. politics......grr

I thought a blind eye was usually turned unless the pirate station did something silly like broadcasting on a frequency used by a legit station?
