The Brothers Movement only came into existence in 2007. It’s a measure of how highly regarded The Brothers Movement have become within music circles in such a short period of time that they were invited to open for The Jesus And Mary Chain in The Roundhouse, London in March 08. Further evidence of the potential of this band came when Black Rebel Motorcycle Club invited The Brothers Movement to open for their entire European tour in June 08. Over the last couple of years these hard working rock n’ rollers have built up an impressive roll call of opening slots with some of the finest bands on the planet with the likes of Primal Scream, Ian Brown, MC5, Chemical Brothers, Sonic Youth and Brian Jonestown Massacre among the bands with whom they have shared a stage.

The Brothers Movement spent the first months of 2008 recording their debut album in Philadelphia with the Cobbs (BRMC, Peasant, War on Drugs). With the album now mixed & mastered it has allowed The Brothers Movement time to road test their new material on such dates as the above mentioned Jesus And Mary Chain and BRMC gigs as well as the IMRO New Sounds Stage at Irelands largest annual Festival, Oxegen. These passionate and energetic live performances in turn opened the door for the band to appear at the Popkomm Festival, Berlin in October 08.

Keep your ear to the ground, The Brothers Movement are gathering momentum!

The Brothers Movement consists of the following members:

Neil Paxton - Guitar & vocals

Danda – Guitar & Vocals

Conor Paxton – Bass

Derick O’ Neill – keyboard

Scott Glennon – Guitar

Andy Parkes – Drums.

Also included on the bill are Waterford's fabulous Katie Kim and Galway's new wave/indie merchants Disconnect 4

DISCOnnect 4 play an infectious blend of dirty dancefloor rock and never let the pace slip, with dancey drums, delayed guitar, melodic synth and driving basslines. The band formed in December 2006 and soon began playing live dates around Galway, Ireland. With two former members of Galway indie band The Dirty Sweets they had a clear idea of the music they wanted to make, and quickly developed a danceylive set. There soon followed a string of support slots with the likes of The Twang, The Flaws, Giveamanakick and Messiah J.

Entering the summer they took a break from live shows to write new tracks and rebuild with new bassist, Yvonne. The Róisín Dubh Summer Shindig heralded their return to gigging with a storming live set, sharing the bill with Fight Like Apes and Delorentos. This was to set the tone for the rest of 2007 and lead to support slots with The Things, The Sultans of Ping and The Brunettes, among others, and also a much-coveted slot at the Bud Rising Festival alongside Nine Black Alps, Calvin Harris and David Kitt. In the summer of 2008 they enlisted producer Ciáran O'Shea (Laundry Shop, Echogram, Rulers of the Plant) to record 2 tracks for a double a-side set for release in October and they are recording a live session with Dan Hegarty for 2fm.

Perfect swellings , slowburns , sedated distorting chaos and tickeling wrapped around vocals make for an evening spent with the music of katie kim.Formerly an original member of tenspeed racer drummer, Terry Cullens "Galaxie 500"esque dreamrock outfit "Dae Kim" , She departed from the band at Christmas to work on material she had been writing for the past 10 years . While a computer mishap wiped over 50 finished tracks and 3 years of blood and tears a new and butterflied sound emerged to reveal "twelve", her debut album, due for release exclusively on limited edition vinyl on the 3rd of october .
The "Twelve" tour started in Whelans with "Sherwater" in Dublin to rave reviews, with a full line up of players including John Haggis acting as drummer.John Haggis' name might be familiar to some as nearly all of his solo releases after fronting cork underground shoegaze heroes"emperor of ice cream" have been awarded various "album of the year" reviews by No Disco back in the day as well as his most recent release "Back to Christiana" being hailed as one of the best irish releases this year by The Irish Times and Today Fm's Donal Dineen.

The tour continues chopping and changing the lineup to keep an orbiting sound playing with acts including Mercury Rev and David Kitt, before she relocates to Montreal to start recording her next album.Katie kim also features on the brand new "return to form" album from David kitt this year, a track from Kerry crazy folk Ten Past Seven amongst other collaborations. Currently Katie Kim has been getting serious airplay on national as well as 'underground' radio stations.
